spring is here

Tori's tulip was the 1st one to bloom. Yeah maybe spring is here to stay.

Spring Break

On the Road again with the funny farm. We had a great fun filled week of travels and working on the farm. I would like to first thank the bus drier, Ho Ho, for always taking us places and getting us safely there even on the snowy road in the parkway. Next I would like to thank the tour guide, The Bear, for all the fun filled trips and the places we saw, you tried so hard to plan even after you got your title taken away after one late night supper. It seems like no one staved that night and we all were laughing and having a great time. I think you should get your title back. We went to the Bass Pro shop where the girls got to try their hand at shooting targets. I found a lot of things we need before the next wagon train. Then it was off to the Ripley's Aquarium. We saw the dive show, got to pick up a horseshoe crab and got to pet a stingray. It was hard to believe it was snowing outside when we came out. Then one day we went to the Parks Seed company. We got to walk their greenhouses and plan a lot of things we want to plant. It was the best day I was told because the Bear walked around with us, we got to eat potato pizza, and I got to go to the Dixie shop. Another day we went to see the Elk. Now everyone had seen them but me and it was amazing. They are a little ugly but so large. On other days the bus driver became the tractor driver. He moved railroad planks, pills of wood and whatever the Bear told him to. We built plant beds, planted some flowers and fruit bushes, and painted a little on the girls clubhouse.
I am sorry for this week to end but I need to go back to work to rest. Hopefully it will stop raining and spring will stay so we can keeping enjoying the flowers and the clubhouse at night, since it doesn't get dark as early.

Easter

Easter is finally here. We got up to get ready for sunrise service and it seemed that the Easter Bunny had come to see up. He only comes when you really believe and we must because he came by. He left Jenna a new soccer ball, Tori a running radio and a step counter, and Sam got a bag to put all her softball stuff in. He even brought me some stuff. We went out the door and he had left lots of eggs filled with candy. After all the church activies we went to Ho Ho's & Granny Bear's for lunch. Yes Tim we had ham. After lunch we went to the Biltmore House for their annual egg hunt and to go feed the ducks. The best part of the day we had left overs for dinner.

play house

The last few weeks the girls have been going off and playing in the wagon. When I ask about it they say they wanted their own club house. I came down there and they even had a slide coming out the front of the wagon. She the Bear and I went to look for a playhouse. We found one at Lowes and the boys put it together for them. Keep a look out for updates on their new playhouse. They want to paint it, plant flowers around it and design some inside it.

Hat Parade

The girls entered the hat contest for the Flecther's Easter Egg hunt. They looked adorable and they even made a hat for the puppy. I have never seen so may people in Flecther before. There were kids everywhere. The girls got some eggs and their face painted. It was the 1st warm day this spring. Yeah

A Puppy

Most people get rabbits and chicks for Easter but not us..we got a puppy. It is a mix but she is adborable. She looks like Scappy Doo...but her name is Eva. She loves to follow the girls around and play with Monty and Maggie

Harlem Globetrotters

The girls and I went to see the best basketball players in the world. It is amazing to see how easy they make everything seem. They did shots from half court, danced musicals, pulled players pants down and threw water on the crowd. The girls got their basketball signed and had a great time. We went with a couple of our friends. It is amazing you never forget the sound of Sweet Georgia Brown.

Dolly Parton

Tori's state project was due and she did Tennessee. She had to do a booklet shaped as the state, do a shoe box made into a float, and dress up as a person from her state. She dressed up as Dolly Parton. With her fur coats and high heel shoes she was ready to be a blonde. Just for the record she made an A+.

18,000 EGGS

We may be a small church but when you ask you shall receive, and we did. The church had an Easter Egg hunt and we had 18,000 filled eggs. The kids had a ball and left with enough candy to eat for months. When you start putting eggs out you know you place them in a well hidden spot but after the 5th bag you just start throwing them.
We might even find some eggs still out there.

Sam's Program

Sam's grade did a program in honor of the best children's author ever....Dr Suess. They sang every story he ever wrote. My favorite was Sam I Am of coarse but Sam wanted to be Thing One. I think she is Thing Three. It was a great night without a fight...it was from here to there that everyone had as much fun as they do at the fair. Ok I will leave the rimes to Suess.
