The Little Mermaid

We wnet to Atlanta last weekend to see the Southern Ballet. This year's show was the Little Mermaid. Emma was in it and she played a poor sole..the counterpart of the Seawitch. It was hard to believe that was Emma under all that black. She did a great job as did the dance company. We had to go thru some bad weather to get there. Ho thought the ballet should have been the Wizzard of Oz...the tornados would have been a perfect backdrop. But we made it there and back without any problems. It was good to have everyone together again. The long hours and hard work that Emma put in really showed. It was a great time for us all.

Girls sport day

The girls and I went to UNC this past weekend and joined 250 other girls and women in learning a new sport. We had a blast. Jenna tried basketball, flag football, archery, and field hockey. Tori did tennis, running, archery, and field hockey. Sam learned self defense, archery, field hockey, and running. I tried Nia, Zumba, self denfense, and tennis. I can say after 20 minutes of Nia and 20 minutes of Zumba I learned I was out of shape. It snowed a little while the girls were outside but they came in and warmed up pretty fast. It was cool to try something new. Jenna and Sam made the newspaper. Tori got to meet the head leader of Girls on the Run. I learned the run I signed up to run with Tori in May is a 5K. I need to get in shape fast.

Ho's Hobby

Ho and Bear went on another adventure. This time they ended up at Bike Week. While the rest of us froze they were at the beach. They had a great time. They came home talking about the crazy bikes, all the people, and what the biker women were wearing (or should I say not wearing). It is great for Ho to have a hobby. He loves how fast the bike goes and for his gray hair to blow in the breeze. I think he enjoys it because when he is on his bike he can't hear the noise of his 5 girls. When he puts on his leather he does look like a member of the village people. Go Ho Go!!

Rodeo

Sunday the girls and I went to the rodeo. There is nothing better then being in a place with so many country folks. My grandmother would have been upset to know I did not stand when they played Dixie but I did my loudest redneck yell and clapped. Tori really enjoys the bullfighters...the rodeo clowns, Jenna loves the bull riding, and Sam loves all the pretty horses. You ask what do I like...while I found a few things that looked very nice. So if anyone needs a hint for what to get me for my birthday (you know it is only 6 months away)just look at some of the pictures above..I don't mean the clown, been there done that. I guess you can say I have trained the girls well, when we came in Jenna picked a place to sit on the side of the fence. I asked why and she said when the cowboys get ready to rope they ALL will be standing in front of us. I must say we did have the best seats in the house.

VBS Preview

Our church was choosen to be the preview church this year in our district to show off the program. We are doing a beach party. Now it is hard to get working on vacation bible school in February but it is really hard to plan a beach party when it is snowing outside. The girls had a snow day Thursday so we went to the church and transformed it into a beach. We had light up palm trees, ocean waves, beach chairs, and surfboards. We were ready to party. Saturday morning the girls and I got dressed in shorts and flip flops..with our heavy coats and went to the church to get the party started. The music was playing, the bubbles were blowing and the flamingos were welcoming people. About 45 people came and we were ready to show off what we had done. From music, to games, crafts, and lots of snacks. I guess you can say this was our dry run for June. After all of this I really want to go to the beach.

Trace Adkins

The girls and I got to meet my favorite country singer last Saturday. And I will say he had his game on. Trace was signing his book he wrote and we were 24th in line to have him sign our book, there were over 300 to meet him. I wanted the girls to see how tall he really is. When he walked in he stood above all the bookshelves in Barnes and Noble. The funny part was the city had this little girl cop there to work the crowd. Now what a little 5ft 2 cop was going to do againist all these redneck women..I don't know. But everyone behaved themselves and Trace keep his shirt on. The employees keep saying he would only sign the book nothing else. So when my daughter, Tori got up there she asked him to sign her shirt and he did. No one else but Tori and Sam got anything else signed from what I have been told. These girls have no fear. Later that night we went to the concert. If you ever get the chance to go see him you need to. He puts on a great concert. And he knows how to shake his badonkadonk.
