Kids Christmas Party
After church Sunday we hosted a Kids party. This was a chance for the parents to go finish their Christmas shopping or errands. We served lunch to them, Jenna made fresh chicken nuggets with the help of Phil, we watched "The Polar Express", eat cookies and drank hot cocoa, and had a visit from Old Santa Claus. All the kids got their own Santa hats and we sang Happy Birthday before we cut the birthday cake for Jesus.(thanks for the idea Aunt Dee Dee, I'll try to keep up the tradition) Most of the kids wore their PJs and had a great time. Our mission was Back Pack for kids. It is a program that Helping Hands does. They pack a back pack of individual foods, that a kid can open, on Friday afternoon for kids that don't have food to eat during the weekend. Then the kid brings back the back pack Monday and they do it all again the following weekend. It is hard to believe that they help over 500 kids in Buncombe, Hendersonville, and Haywood county.
