Spring Break

The first part of the break should have been called rainy break, it rained for 3 days. But that didn't stop us. The Bear and the girls had a great time during the days and I filled in at night. They had a lazy day, they went to the movies, Tori went to a sleep over, and they went on a hunt to find the new kittens. They also made the coolest clipboards. I took them to the batting cage, we all went bowling, we went to see the wild horses, we went rock climbing, and went to help out the Jimmy Wayne foundation. The weather turned warm by the end of the week and we all enjoyed it.

Easter

The day started off a little chilly, Sam and I went to sunrise service @ 7 am. Then we went to Granny Bear's to get the twins and say good bye to Jan. Then it was off to church. The girls and the kids played the chimes during the service. After that we met Ho and Bear at the Biltmore for a picnic and the egg hunt. Then the day came to an end with the girls and I going to dinner to Jonathan's mom. We ate and played outside while enjoying the great weather. From sunrise to sunset I got to spend my day with my favorite people in the world. Easter is not about eggs and candy (the peanut butter eggs do add some fun) it is about the unconditional love that Jesus had/has for us. We need to show that kind of love to others around us no matter how mad they make us. To forgive and forget and then move on. Hope your Easter was as good as ours was.

no rabiits for us

Most people get rabbits for Easter but not us...Uncle Donny brought us 2 rams and 2 goats. The goats are to replace the 2 we lost at Christmas, Tori & Sam's and the rams were bottle babies from their house. My sheep is the larger one, his name is Kringle (he was born on Christmas day), the other sheep's name is James. The brown and white goat is Tori's and his name is Anthony. The tan one is Sam's goat name Jr. (that is for all you Jr 88 fans). The funny farm is growing and growing.

Aunt Jan

Aunt Jan came up to help us celebrate Easter. We had a great time. She went to see Sam play softball on Thursday. We all got together for dinner on Friday, afterwards we taught Jan & Jonathan how to play Mexican Train (we stayed up until after 11 playing). On Saturday we went to see the winning birdhouses from the Grove Park and went to the Harley Place, and then had lunch. Afterwards, I was dropped off and the girls went to pan for gems with the grown ups. Sunday morning we got up and had breakfast. It was a short visit, we hope she comes back soon.

Grove Park birdhouses

All 3 girls entered the birdhouse competition again this year. Sam made an apple one with red birds on it. Jenna made a log cabin with the dixie flag and american flag decoration all over it. Tori did the Sloppy Joes bird shake. Tori won 2nd place in the kid division. Her house is displayed in the main lobby of the hotel. All 3 girls have donated their houses to the Habit again this year. They will auction them off and all money raised will go to building homes in the Asheville area. Way to go girls!
