Toys 4 Tots Concert

div>
The girls and I helped Toys for Tots again Thursday night. We bought tickets to see Chuck Wicks and Jimmy Wayne at the Fiddling Pig. With our tickets we got 2 great concerts and a huge BBQ meal. Sam said it couldn't get any better than this..ribs, banana pudding, and Chuck Wicks! Our seats were amazing and the music was fabulous. Chuck sang for about 45 minutes, Sam's favorite "Stealing Cinderella". During the break the girls got to meet their favorite morning radio person, Eddie Fox.

Then Jimmy Wayne hit the stage, unbelievable. If any of you get the chance you need to hear his songs. He also talked about his life. He makes you understand that it is not were you came from, or the trouble you have been in, it is about what you are going to do from here on out. He has a "FTW" tattoo, at 15 it meant something else but now it stands for FAITH IS THE WAY. You might be going through a bad time right now but there is someone in the world with less than you and much more troubles. Listen to "Paper Angles" or "I love you this much" you will get his message. The girls got to meet him, not bad for a Carolina boy from right down the road.

We had a great time and we got to help the kids in Western Carolina.

another day on the funny farm

I got up this morning and it was freezing. After I feed I meet up with Ho and we were going to get the stock trailer hooked up to his jeep, another one of my crazy ideas. We couldn't find the right trailer ball so we get the motorcycle trailer instead. See, I am the kid that thought when I was young all you need was a tennis ball when you needed a trailer ball. So, I am not to good at this. We put 1 sheep and 2 goats in it, so we could take them to Biltmore United Methodist Church, after church. They were going to have a heifer sale and wanted live animals for the kids to see and touch. Then I picked up the girls and we were off to church. We had to get ready for communion, Sunday School, and it was my turn to teach Children's church. As soon as church was over we cleaned up communion and ran out the door to meet Ho & Bear, who were outside waiting to take the animals. I never knew that a motorcycle trailer would baa. Then down to Biltmore. We got there and the lady said that they had finished early because it was to cold and the little ones couldn't stay outside. So we took the animals back home. They really enjoyed the ride but would have liked a window sit next time. After an hour for lunch and rest we went to Warren and Tracey's for their open house to see their Christmas trees. Their house was beautiful. Then I took the girls to Ho and Bear's house so I could go a cheerleading meeting and the girls to choir practice. We finally made it home around 7:30 for good. Ho said I was over booked today and as I sit here tired I believe he was right. But it was a great day and a perfect weekend. Having snow fall during the parade yesterday. A great play last night as the Flat Rock Playhouse, and a full load today. How could it not be good when the good Lord gives you a sunrise like this to start your day????

4 H Christmas Parade

Ho, Sam, and I got up early Saturday morning to go to Weaverville to get ready for the parade. Thanks to Sammy for allowing us to us the trailer, Donny and Dusty for building the sides and loaning us the horses, and HO for driving and helping us build the float in the 30 degree weather. Our theme was Santa and his sleigh. We had a big blow up Santa riding on a sleigh being pulled by 4 horses. Then we put hay bales in the middle for everyone to sit on and had a horse saddle at the end of the hay. At the bottom there was a Christmas tree and Frosty to wave at everyone.
We through candy and froze.

Nature Center

The twins had a sleep over Friday so Sam and I went to see the animals. The nature center put up lights in all the trails and had special story telling, games, and snacks out for everyone. We had a great time but it was 29 degrees outside. We wondered if the otters were ice skating. We did get to see our favorite animals, the 2 camels. They tried to eat Sam's hat but they were so so cool looking!

snow again

OK, it snowed again yesterday. We did not get as much as some of the other counties around us but it blew all day long. It was just not cold enough to stay on the ground. The girls went to school and were not happy. They got up early Monday wanting to see if their county was on the list on the bottom of the news. It is kind of like the advent song they sang in church, on Sunday... "light the advent candle 1, now the waiting has begun". We wait to see if it snows, we wait to see if we have a 2 hour delay, we wait to see if school is canceled, when we wait to see if it will be an early release. NOPE everyone here went to school and to work. Today was the same, I woke them up at 6:15 and they want to know why, it was flurrying when they went to bed. I told them I was no weatherman so just get up. Thank you Uncle Tim for showing them it was going to snow when you were here on Thanksgiving. I will let them call you from now on about the weather report, I bet you have a better track record than the news 13 people.
