When I had this great idea to let the girls show pigs this fall I never knew all that would be involved. We had one of the guys Donny knows find us some hogs. Now I know all the swine flu is going around but these pigs have not flu. You would think you would just jump in the truck and go get some...wrong..not Dusty and I. The guy we heard about, the best pig man around, was on the other side of the state. After a 3 hour trip we made it to EGPTY. This guy looked at me and thought this lady knows nothing, but he and Dusty hit it off and were talking like old friends by the time we got ready to leave. We put our 4 pigs in the box and the 3 hour trip home started. I have to say, Dusty is good to me, I don't know how many people would go in the middle of no where and drive all day to get pigs. The girls are so excited.

kitten nursery
The Bear's front porch has become a nursery. Yonah, a kitten from the 1st litter, had her babies this past Friday. We now have 5 more kittens, with a total of 16 cats. It is so funny to see the little kittens from about a month ago and the new day old ones all in the same box. It is so cool to see how all the cats help out and watch and feed each other babies. If anyone wants a kitten let me know.

playing ball
We took the girls and Sophie (Tori's friend) to see the Asheville Tourist baseball game. They lost but we had a good time. The girls filled up on cotton candy and dipping dots. After the game we went to Dunkin Donuts to try the new place out. I enjoyed the blueberry munchkins with some hot chocolate. After everyone was sugared up we went home. What a fun night.
Mother's Day
Ok, we have been on the run the past few weeks. Going to soccer games, softball games, Honor awards, getting more animals and building more fences and started working on our 4H projects. I feel like taz twirling around sometimes. But I could not get half of this done if I did not have a mom like I do. I talk to her every morning and we get our game plan running. She picks up the girls off the bus or practices in the afternoon. When one girl is on one side of the town doing something she helps take the others to the next activity. She watches the girls when I go out on a date. She is there on call at all times of the day and night. She is a nurse, a cook, a gardener,a homework specialist and the best hugger around. She is a protector..watch out for the cane and the strongest rock to lean on. She makes everything fun to do and teaches you a lesson every day. Growing up with the Bear I learned it was ok to make mistakes, and I did and do still a lot today. To enjoy the moment your not guarantee the next day. Take time to smell the flowers and plant some new ones. And that no matter how busy you are the family fun days are not optional, just remember to pack the napkins for the picnic before you go. The Bear is the BEST Bic in the world. Happy Mother's Day Bear. Thanks for making my the Mom I am today.
