First off Jenna did much better this weekend...only 2 fouls this time..yeah!!! It was great..she is the smallest but she is the mightiest. Sam and the cheer group cheered her and the teams on. Go Upward!

game night

We had a game night Friday at Church. Our group came out and we had a potluck dinner and played board games most of the night. We had lots of chicken to eat and worked it off playing twister. Everyone had a great time. I am to old to play twister..the ground is a lot harder than I remember.

Taste off

The girls and I went to A B Tech yesterday to go to the Mission Hospital Lighten Up for life cooking demos. It was so neat to be in the A B culinary center...since Jenna loves to cook. They had demos going on about how to cook healthier. We had a salad that tasted like the one we had in the Cuban restaurant, Citrus Miami salad. Jenna & Sam loved the soup from Frankie Bones. We went to 2 cooking classes, the 1st was taught by a chef from the Grove Park, she did a salad with rubella. The other was my favorite, he was a chef from the Biltmore Estate and he taught us how to make Cinnamon sticks. It was pretty neat.

Sam's report card

We got Sam's report card today.....she got 4 A's and 1 B,,,congrats to Sammy

All the girls did so so good...thanks for all the help I get from our homework helper the Bear and the math tutor Ho.

They are going to go to their 1st full middle school dance tomorrow. All grades will be there and not all their friends are going but the girls are excited. Me, I'm a little scared but I'll getting through it.

please meet Walter

The last hamster was magical and wondered off but now we have little Walter for over 2 weeks and he has not escaped. He is a mini dwarf and is so cute. He looks like a little chipmunk. NO he doesn't sing about hula hoops but he love going through the tubes. He is so small that he can't move his wheel, so he is real quite.

While we were at practice last Thursday I received a call from the Bear about this little black kitten. Ho thought we brought home another one. We didn't, she is smaller than the Brittain's litter, don't really know where she came from but she found the food. The girls named her Lucy. She is cute, all black but not fuzzy like Salem. Just what we needed another kitten, now we have 9 cats!!!

Tori & I tried to keep Jenna's bird Della busy will Jenna cleans his cage. That blue bird can bite, I put my finger in the box and I didn't think it was going to ever let go. So, if the bird learns some bad words it is probably my fault.

SNOW

Here are some pictures of the girls and the farm in our 1st snow of the year. It was so beautiful. Nothing in the world looks so great than a white covering over everything. I'm just glad that they finally went back to school, I bet the Bear is also.

We had a great basketball and cheer game last Saturday. Go Upward!!!!
Someone needs to tell Jenna not to be aggressive...she got 5 fouls during the game. She said she is just learning where the line is drawn between foul & not.

Sam was chosen to be the Very Important Person at school this week. She filled out her award as the following:
Her interests are softball and showing animals.
Her favorite subjects in school are writing, art, and math.
Above is the picture she took to school to go on the front board...it is her and one of Uncle Mike's Biltmore jersey heifers from last falls show clinic.

As a perk of getting this award she was able to have her parent come eat lunch with her. You would think that was great unless you are the parent...I went today and had the choice of a rice thing or the green soup with a grilled cheese. I now know why the girls are hungry when then get home from school.

twin's birthday party- by Tori

We had the best 12th birthday party ever! Jenna and I had a 50s party, there was a bubble gum blowing contest. Dusty was the judge and Jenna won.We also had a Dance Contest and Dusty won doing the Electric Slide he taught all of us how to do it. We had a Hula-Hoop contest

and my friend, Rainna, won against Sam. Dinner was so fun we had hamburgers and veggie -burgers with cupcakes and ice cream for dessert.YUM! Then we opened gifts and we both got like 5 gift cards and 23 dollars each,and earrings,sprays,stuff animals,many cards,and Dusty & Donny came with cute cowboy wallets with a silver heart on it. It was the best birthday ever!!!

1ST BASKETBALL GAME-by Jenna

Saturday I had my first basketball game! In the 5th part of the game I had to switch teams.The other team had only 5 people on there team and we have 6 people.So when some one got hurt they had to get another person from the other team.I went easier on my team there was no since going hard on my own team.After the game we went to get our stars I got the white star for Christ likeness star.This year we are doing something with snacks, if you have snacks that week you can pay a dollar for each kid.You can get a chip with a capri sun or a candy and a capri sun.that was my first basketball game!

On last Saturday I had my first cheer leading game. I had a lots of fun,but a couple people made mistakes. When we where done with the game, Tori made us run around the court. Mom gave me the gold star, because I had the most spirit, GO UPWARD BASKETBALL!!

Here is what the snow looked like from last Wednesday night...it is snowing again tonight..not much just enough to get the girl's hope up to have a snow day.

Special Delivery

While we were at church today it seems our sheep multiplied or someone delivered 2 more. That person would be Donny. He brought by Melody and Auncha. We finally have a white sheep! These are 2 sheep that were in Kim' house last winter and the girls bottle feed them. Are farm is growing. BaaaBaaaa

Chess Saturday

Jenna & Sam played in a chess tournament Saturday . They did pretty good, there was 6 games in this tournament. Sam's school won 1st place in K-3. They played from 9 until 3. Tori and I sat around and talked and ate all day while they played.

01-01-09

Ho & Bear came home and we all rested but we meet up for supper. We had the southern tradition, pork roast, rice, black eyed peas, and greens. To 2009 hopefully filled with peace and riches!

Here is the crazy group that thought it would be great to bring in the new year watching a possum drop instead of a ball. Ho is taking the picture, there is Miki and Joe and 2 good friends that went to school with the Bear, Bobby and Marilyn. They had the chance to get their pictures with the big possum, a guy in a costume or watch the beauty pageant full of men. And they call me a redneck. I bet it is great to have such great friendships like they all have.

Dec family night

The church meet and we all went bowling Tuesday night. We all had a great time, we knew we were in trouble when James brought his own shoes.... James won and Warren got the gutter ball award for falling down on his 1st frame.
